Program Overview
The DM Medical Genetics program is conducted under the Division of Medical Genetics, Department of Pediatrics at AIIMS, New Delhi. It is a premier superspecialty training program focused on the diagnosis, management, and research of genetic and metabolic disorders.
The program integrates clinical services with advanced laboratory diagnostics and research, providing comprehensive training in modern medical genetics.
Legacy and Establishment
The Division of Medical Genetics at AIIMS was established by the late Prof. (Dr.) I C Verma, who pioneered genetic services in India and laid the foundation for clinical genetics in the country.
The DM training program was subsequently started and strengthened under the leadership of:
