The 5th National Conference of the HAE Society of India (HAESICON) is set to take place on February 21st–22nd, 2026, at the Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway, Bengaluru.
This scientific gathering is organized by the Hereditary Angioedema Society of India (HAESI) in collaboration with the Bangalore Dermatological Society, the Indian Rheumatology Association Karnataka Chapter, and Manipal Hospital.
The conference has been awarded 3 CME credit hours by the Karnataka Medical Council.
Scientific Highlights
The program focuses on clinical challenges in the diagnosis and management of urticaria and angioedema. For the genetics community, several sessions offer deep dives into hereditary aspects and molecular diagnostics:+1
- Genetic Profiling: A session dedicated to the genetic profile and genotype-phenotype correlation in an Indian cohort of HAE patients.
- The Screening Debate: A “Tug of War” session debating whether genetic testing and antenatal screening in HAE should be considered a “must” or “optional”.
- Genetics of Urticaria: Research presentations on the interplay of FCER1a genetics and basophil activation in chronic urticaria.
- Rare Disease Policy: An update on the Government of India’s Rare Disease Policy specifically for patients with hereditary angioedema.
- International Oration: The 4th Dr. Hilary Longhurst Oration by Daria Fomina, focusing on HAE with normal C1-INH.
